March 1, 2014 – Wild Imagination: A Writing Workshop with Scott Russell Sanders 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM. “Join Scott Russell Sanders–author of A Conservationist Manifesto, Earth Works, and other books–for an afternoon workshop on “”Wild Imagination.”" The workshop will offer brief writing invitations, short readings from nature literature (including the work of Aldo Leopold), and a conversation about how we imagine nature and how we form a sense of place. March 8, 2014 – Explore the Winter Night Sky – 6:00 – 9:00 PM. Join the Madison Astronomy Society (MAS) to learn about the night sky. MAS will have several telescopes set up and show you cool features about the moon, point you towards some winter constellations. This is more of an informal program where you can come anytime and the MAS volunteers will help you get to know the night sky. She will show us how she expertly spices up foods every day. “Spice” doesn’t have to just mean spicy, it is more about the wonderful flavors she creates. March 22, 2014 – ChainMaille Demonstration & Trunk Show – 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Marlis Lambson, is a ChainMaille Craftswomen of Journeyman status.  She resides here in Columbia County.  She sells her creations  at Renaissance Fairs, bu Consignment and has been commissioned by a florida company to create body maille for them.  She is skilled at making old jewelry into new, specializing in maille creations. She will be presenting her work in a Trunk Show, as well as providing free demonstrations in making chainmaille rings. Come and learn about an ancient art, which is still a popular jewelry style. Bees are of inestimable value as agents of cross-pollination, and many plants are entirely dependent on particular kinds of bees for their reproduction. Honeybees, in particular, are responsible for the pollination of one out of every three mouthfuls of food we consume. MAHS will be presenting on the native reptile and amphibian species found right in and around Devil’s Lake State Park, as well as Wisconsin! These misunderstood and underrepresented animals can be found in Wisconsin’s forests, prairies, wetlands, and even your own backyard! Learn how and in which habitats you can find salamanders in! Barb Rothwell, from Concord Valley Gourds will be the guest teacher for this special class.  Barb will be bringing the gourds and beads in a kit for $30.00.  All you have to do is show up, or you can bring in your own beads and the class will be $25.00  This will be a fun class and different than just beading.  Hope you can come and enjoy this class with us! March 30, 2014 – Enchanted Tila Bracelet, 12:30 – 3:00 PM. This bracelet is simple, yet very pretty .  We will learn to do the ladder stitch with a two-holed bead and then explore some different ways to add the edging beads.  A variety of beads could be substituted for those in the photos.
