September 2- 4th Baraboo River Rendezvous, 9am-5pm. Reenactment of the pre-1840 fur trade era. Events include kids games & Candy Cannon, hawk & knife throws, pie baking contest, flint fire starting, trap toss, fry pan throw (women only), fishing on river, blanket bow shoot. No pets allowed. Period food available on site. Located at Spirit Point (behind Circus World Museum). Follow signs to Circus World, then Baraboo River Rendezvous signs to site. 608-356-8172. September 2nd-Devil’s Lake Friday Fish Fry, 5:30-8pm, Dinner includes: 2 pc battered fish and 1 pc baked chicken or 3 pieces of chicken. Potato salad, baked beans, bread & butter. Salads vary. The Stand and The Chateau will be open for drinks and desserts, and the Chateau now serves draft beer and wine. Dinner catered by Elite Catering & Bakery. Devil’s Lake State Park, North Shore by the Chateau, S5975 Park Rd, Baraboo. Admission: Adults $9.50, Children 6 to 10 $5, Children 5 and under 60 cents per year. You must have a state park sticker to attend event.
September 3rd- Reedsburg Community Picnic, 12 Noon. In Celebration of Labor Day, and as a kick-off to a great fall season filled with food, fun and fermentation the Reedsburg Area Chamber of Commerce is organizing “Red Gingham Days–a Picnic in the Park”. You, and everyone you know, are cordially invited to attend. Join us for an old-fashioned, come-as-you-are picnic at Webb Park, North Webb Ave in Reedsburg and bring everything you need!
September 3, 2011- Grupo Xpress – Downtown Dells Entertainment, 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Formed in 2006, Grupo Xpress has quickly become a standard in the burgeoning Latin music scene with its strong salsa. Merengue, bachata and cumbia are also featured in the salseros’ repertoire. September 10th- Elroy Apple Dumpling Day Fest, 7am – 11am. Scenic Elroy is hosting the Elroy Lions Half Marathon run, 5K funrun/walk and kids runs. Along with the races, there is a pancake breakfast, food and craft vendors, kickball tournament, kids pedal pull, demo derby, and live band.
September 10th- Celebrate Life – American Society Cancer Fundraiser at Marleys – A Taste of the Caribbean. 1-7pm. The Dells area’s only American Cancer Society event. Win $1000 CASH PRIZE with a raffle ticket! Enjoy live music by the talented Brian Beebe! Bring the kids, eat wonderful food. September 15th-Swing for the Red, 10am- 12 Noon. 4 person scramble golf tournament presented by Ho-Chunk Gaming in order to raise awareness and funds for local disaster relief provided by the American Red Cross Badger South Central Chapter. Several Hole-In-One prizes including an all inclusive trip to the Masters. Prizes at each hole, door prize for each golfer of their choice of a Calloway Iron or Driver, $50 travel voucher and so much more! Lunch, dinner, 18 holes +cart included for each golfer at $400 registration free. 100% of the money raised at this event through sponsorship, registration fees and silent auction will go directly to disaster relief in Adams, Columbia, Juneau, and Sauk Counties. September 16 – 18th Wo-Zha-Wa Days Fall Festival. All of downtown Wisconsin Dells marks the end of summer with this huge festival named for the Ho-Chunk phrase “to have fun”. Carnival rides, food stands, sidewalk sales, an arts, antiques and crafts fair, and other festivities culminate with the Wo-Zha-Wa parade on Sunday. Free spectator admission. September 17th-Heritage Day Potluck and Ice Cream Social, 10am – 3pm, Join us as we thank our volunteers and take pride in our area heritage. Demonstrations of old time crafts and skills and school room etiquette, Reedsburg Writers group readings, Cazenovia German Band plays 2-3pm, Lots of exhibits, history, gardens, and artifacts! Raffle of handmade local goods to raise money for running water at the Village. Reedsburg Pioneer Log Village, 3 miles east of Reedsburg on Hwy 33. Donations encouraged. The Village currently operates solely on donations and grants.

September 18th- Wisconsin Triathlon Series LLC “Devil’s Challenge Triathlon. 8am. The annual Devil’s Challenge Triathlon includes a 1/4 mile swim, 15 mile bike and 3 mile run. Whether a novice triathlete or a seasoned triathlete, this is a race for everyone! September 20th- Universe in the Park at Devil’s Lake. 8:45pm, Astronomers from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Program will present an evening of exploring the universe. The park naturalist will be on hand to answer questions about the park until dusk falls and the astronomy programs begins. Park vehicle admission sticker is required. September 23-24th 8th Annual Fall Trail Ride – La Farge, 3-11pm. Soak up the beauty of the Kickapoo Valley and enjoy the spectacular fall colors on miles of equestrian trails. A special camp area will be prepared to accommodate trailers, horses, mules, and their riders. A fee of $40 per horse & rider ($20 per horse & rider for ages 16 & under and non-riders) includes program events, 2 nights of camping, trail pass, and Saturday evening meal & Sunday morning coffee and rolls. September 24th- Phantom of the Opera, Silent movie with professional theatre organist. This is part of the Lively Arts Series. For over forty years Dennis James has played a pivotal role in the international revival of silent films with live music. He began professional film accompaniment at Indiana University while he was a music student. James is renowned for providing the most comprehensive selection of authentic silent films with live music presentations available today. The Phantom of the Opera is undeniably Lon Chaney’s most famous role. It has inspired five remakes (in 1943, 1962, 1983, 1989 and 1990) and the blockbuster Andrew Lloyd Weber musical. September 24th- Sauk County Alzheimers Walk, 9am – 12 noon, This event raises awareness and funds to support critical programs and services for local families coping with memory loss and dementia and to promote research towards early detection, prevention and a cure. Enjoy entertainment, food, awards, prizes, a commemorative program, and an optional 2-mile walk along the Baraboo Riverwalk. New this year is a silent auction and a presentation by the Purple Cow Poets for those who choose not to walk. Irish music will be provided by the Mossman family band, Wrannock. Sara Strozinsky is this year‘s painting artist. Those who contribute at least $10 can have a name added to the painting. Event T-shirts are awarded to those who raise at least $50.
